It’s the Inaugural Beane 2018 Podcast!

Podcasts have become an indispensable part of many people’s lives. It’s a way to stay up to date on important topics, hear insightful conversations or simply make that commute go a little faster. With a medium that features so many possibilities, it makes sense that this District 2 campaign is looking to turn it up to 11 with it’s own podcast.

Each episode you’re invited to join Jordan as he discusses the big issues we face as San Diego strives towards a more progressive future. This is your opportunity to listen in as Jordan speaks to people who are making things happen in America’s Finest City. Whether they’re local leaders, entrepreneurs or activists, the Beane 2018 Podcast is going to keep you educated, informed and entertained.

In this premiere episode, Jordan kicks things off talking about who he & why he started a podcast (0:27) before talking to Hilary Kearney of Girl Next Door Honey (3:32). Hilary is a native San Diegan, full time beekeeper and an Instagram superstar. Jordan and Hilary talk about her background, what she believes is causing the decline in bee populations (6:41) and the importance of bee populations, especially local bee species (9:44). The two also discuss what local municipalities can do to help out struggling pollinator populations (12:07), what the best flowers are for people to plant (14:09) and finally what other steps we can all take to help out bees (14:55).
